My Story

The Heart Behind the Canvas

My journey as an artist truly began with a heavy backpack. As a young girl growing up in Ontario, I used to carry massive books back and forth to school, utterly fascinated by animals. I spent countless hours studying the distinct lines of different dog and horse breeds, filling sketchbooks with their forms.

That early love for wildlife seamlessly merged with a deep reverence for the outdoors, nurtured by a wonderfully active, outdoorsy family. Our childhood camping trips to provincial and state parks left me with a permanent sense of wonder and a constant supply of fresh inspiration.

For most of my life, I have been an active hiker and camper, but it was a move from town to the rural Niagara countryside in 2021 that fundamentally reshaped my art. Surrounded by the landscape, my desire to bring the spirit of nature indoors was re-ignited. I began painting my favorite vistas—decorating my own walls with the very scenes my heart constantly longs to visit and return to.

Over the years, I have explored watercolors and acrylics, but I have found my true artistic home in the rich depth of oil painting. Alongside my landscapes, I feel a profound calling to paint custom pet portraits. Knowing that the bond we share with our animals lives on forever, it is a deep privilege to create memorial portraits that capture the unique character of a lost furry family member, bringing comfort and fond memories to their owners.

More than anything, I love connecting with people and learning about what lights them up. If you spend even a few minutes chatting with me, it won't take long to discover my own deepest passions: my family, my faith, and my absolute love for nature and art.
