Before diving into the highlights from the race track, I want to share some exciting news about my artwork now being displayed at Rookleys Gallery in Ridgeway. If you’re in the area, I encourage you to visit the gallery and explore the collection. You can find more details on their website here.

Painting Live at Fort Erie Race Track
The live painting event at Fort Erie Race Track was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was electric, with the excitement of the races blending perfectly with the creative energy of the live art. Setting up my easel in the walking circle, I was able to capture the passion and spirit of the event in real time.
The Setup and Creative Process
Many visitors stopped by to watch the painting take shape. It was rewarding to share my process and discuss the inspiration behind the work. The interaction with the audience added a layer of excitement and motivation that you don’t get when painting alone in a studio.
Highlights from the Weekend
Engaging with the Crowd
Meeting so many people who appreciate art and horse racing was a highlight. Several attendees shared their own stories and connections to the track, which enriched the experience.
Support from the Community
I want to thank everyone who came out to say hi and support the event. Your encouragement means a lot and inspires me to keep creating and sharing my work.
What I Learned from Painting Live
Painting in front of an audience requires a different mindset than working privately. It taught me to embrace spontaneity and trust my instincts. The feedback and conversations during the event helped me see my work from new perspectives. The positive feedback as onviewers walked by was the best fuel to keep me going for hours of painting.
This experience also reinforced the importance of community in art. Sharing the creative process openly builds connections and makes art more accessible. I look forward to participating in more live events and continuing to grow as an artist.
