Painting is more than just accomplishing a pretty picture; each piece evokes emotion.

Overcoming Art Block: 3 Questions I Ask Myself
If I am starting to experience art block, I ask myself these three questions:
Have I gone outside today? Did I take the time to breathe in all the beauty around me? Going on a tech-free walk is necessary. Digital media clutters the brain, and it takes a moment to detach from fast-paced, short-form content and adjust to the slow pace of nature.
Am I too comfortable? Do I keep going back to the same desk, same room, and same subject matter? If I am in a funk, it can be as simple as changing up my go-to playlist, switching positions (standing instead of sitting), or moving my desk to face the window instead of having my back to it.
Am I experimenting? Getting stuck often means I am not challenging myself to try different techniques or paint different subject matter. We never reach a point of "perfection" in art because there is no such thing. Sometimes, bringing it back to basics is the healthiest way to reset the creative flow—just playing around with color and composition.
